Mission Statement
Autism Support of Kent County (ASK) works to provide services that make it possible for individuals with autism to lead healthier and more productive lives. ASK is 100% donor funded and runs programs worth over $100,000 for individuals affected by autism spectrum disorder and their families.

In addition to our signature social groups and parent/caregiver support group, we offer a variety of programs and events.
Monthly Family Events: Immerse yourself in a world of sensory-sensitive and enjoyable experiences at our Monthly Family Events. Designed for individuals with autism and their families, these events foster connection, understanding, and shared joy.
Special Autism and Sensory Friendly Nights: Experience the magic of inclusive entertainment with our Special Autism Nights at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum and Civic Theatre. Tailored to create an environment of acceptance and enjoyment for individuals with autism and their families.
Annual Walk for Autism & Resource Fair: Join us for our Annual Walk for Autism & Resource Fair—an event that blends fellowship, fundraising, and pure FUN! Come together to support our cause and celebrate the strength of our community.
Support & Autism Training for Law Enforcement and First Responders: Ensuring the safety and understanding of our community, we provide support and autism training for law enforcement personnel and first responders.
Collaborative Events with Other Non-Profits: Strengthening our impact through collaboration, we actively engage in events and initiatives with other non-profits to enhance support and resources for the autism community.

Jeanette Mitchell, Executive Director
Jeanette leads programs, partnerships, and advocacy efforts that support autistic individuals and their families, advancing the mission to build an accepting and inclusive community.

Jennie Miller, Program Director
Jennie manages our social groups for elementary age, teens and young adults. She also leads our Clubhouse young adult group and is a lead organizer for our family social events.

Laura Hall, Theater Director
Laura leads the Full Spectrum Players, a theater group for and by individuals with autism.

Anne Sedore, Program Assistant
Anne assists the Program Director with social groups and the Clubhouse young adult group and helps organize family social events.
